CAST holds forum on Green Aviation

The International Forum on Green Aviation was held in Hefei, Anhui province on Oct 22. Chaired by Zhang Weihong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the forum brought together leaders of international organizations, academicians, experts, and industry insiders with the goal of promoting the global aviation industry's green development. The event saw 200 people in attendance and nearly 10,000 participants via live broadcast.

Focusing on the theme of "Green Aviation," representatives from the International Network for Digital Innovation Research and Education (INDIRE), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Coordination Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA), the International Council of Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS), and the Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems (JARUS) and other international organizations shared insights into the strategies for sustainable aviation development.

Forum scene

Nine leading academicians and experts in the field addressed key areas such as noise and emissions, aircraft design, hydrogen power, lightweight structural materials, and green airport construction.

Experts from the Civil Aviation Administration of China, as well as various research institutions and enterprises, engaged in specialized discussions on new energy aircraft from both technical and regulatory perspectives.

The meeting featured three parallel sub-forums dedicated to energy and power, smart air traffic control, and electric sub-assembly. Each featured presentations by five experts and paper readings by five students.

The joint release of the "International Association for Green Aviation (IAGA) Initiative".

As one of the significant outcomes of the forum, the "International Association for Green Aviation (IAGA) Initiative" was released, aiming to promote sustainable aviation development.

The initiative was started by over 50 experts and organizations, both domestic and international, marking China's solid commitment to carbon reduction and emission reduction in green aviation, and gaining more influence for the country in the international green aviation development in the future.

The International Forum on Green Aviation provided a platform for exchange and cooperation in green aviation development, contributing insights and ideas to the industry's sustainable development and supporting the exploration of advanced and sustainable paths.
