CAST holds global technology transformation forum

The Global Technology Transfer and Transformation Forum of the 25th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was held in Hefei, Anhui province, on Oct 23. The forum was jointly hosted by the CAST and the People's Government of Anhui Province, and organized by the Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE).

In her speech, Ren Qinghua, deputy governor of Anhui, expressed her hope to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with the CAST and the CIE. She also urged coordination in the breakthroughs of key technologies, attracting more talents to work in Anhui, and achieve technology development outcomes in the province.

Zhang Feng, chairman of the CIE, said that the CIE will continue to leverage its advantages, integrate resources from the government, industrial associations, academia, and industry, and establish an innovative technological service platform with full network coverage, making efforts to promote the transfer and transformation of technological achievements.

During the forum, the CIE and the Anhui Association for Science and Technology signed a memorandum agreeing to collaborate in areas such as next-generation information technology, electronic information, robotics, promoting the matchmaking of industries and demands, technology services, achievement transformation, and talent training.

In the keynote report section, Zhang Jianhua, former deputy director of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and deputy director of the Commission of Science and Technology for National Defense and Industry Technology; Huang Wei, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, foreign academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering of the US, director of the academic committee of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and vice-chairman of the CIE; and Zhao Chunjiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture, delivered keynote speeches.

Their speeches focused on exploring how to form a new pattern of cross-border collaboration among diverse innovation entities and creating a global feast of views in the field of technology transfer and transformation.

Currently, global technological innovation is entering an unprecedented period of intensive activity. The transformation of technological achievements is key to enhancing the efficiency of the national innovation system. Promoting the transformation and industrialization of technological achievements is an important task in implementing the innovation-driven development strategy.

The CIE will continue to gather global innovation resources, promote cross-border cooperation in different fields, and support the creation of a world-class technological achievement transformation system, the cultivation of top-notch scientific and technological innovation talents, and the generation of cutting-edge original scientific and technological achievements.
