On October 21, as part of the fifth ASEAN-China Media Week (ACMW), the 2023 Audio-visual Programs Dubbing and Screening Event was launched during the opening ceremony of the 5th ACMW. The event is aired on mainstream radio and television and online audio-visual platforms in Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand, and will continue until December.

This year's dubbing and screening event continues the mechanism of "mutual translation and mutual broadcasting" from the previous year. A total of 23 outstanding Chinese audio-visual programs, including the TV drama Our Times and the documentary The Maritime Silk Road – Distant Neighbors have been broadcasted in ASEAN countries. At the same time, 20 outstanding audio-visual programs from ASEAN countries, such as the TV drama Thirty is Beautiful and the documentary Above the River are being broadcasted in China.

The content of this event covers a variety of categories, including variety shows, TV dramas, documentaries, and short videos. The broadcasting platforms include traditional media such as Radio Television Malaysia, VTC Digital Television , Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI), and radio and television stations in relevant provinces and cities in China, as well as new media platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, We Watch, TikTok, VTC NOW, the official website of Vietnam Digital Television, iQiyi, Migu Video, and Guangxi Audio-Visual.

VTC Digital Television said that the ACMW plays a positive role in promoting friendship and mutual understanding between the people of ASEAN nations and China, as well as strengthening friendly cooperation and interactions between national and regional media institutions. It also provides a platform for Chinese and ASEAN countries' media institutions to showcase their respective traditional cultures.
