Pudong's Jinqiao Group signed a contract with Walmart's Sam's Club on Oct 23, to open a Sam's Club in the Jingu area.
The project is the third Sam's Club store in Pudong and will further improve the area's 15-minute community life circle.
Wu Qiang, vice-governor of Pudong New Area, stated that the official inauguration of the Jinqiao Sam's Club will bring a more diverse array of businesses to the Jingu area in Shanghai. The local government will provide high-quality services and a first-class business environment to ensure the smooth opening and sustainable operation of the store.
Huang Jianing, vice-president of Real Estate Development at Walmart (China), said at the signing ceremony that the Jinqiao project is Sam's Club's third store in Pudong. As a world-class financial and commercial center, Pudong has always been a strategic focus area for Sam's Club's site selection.
The new project is located in Tangzhen, an international residential community in Pudong, and consists of two floors above ground, with a large shopping space on the ground and over 1,100 exclusive parking spaces for members underground. It is currently under construction and is expected to open by the end of 2025.
