Ningxia carries out "elderly adaptation" transformation for families of difficult labor models

Recently, the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions received a letter from a labor model, 92-year-old Tian Hanzhou, who participated in the 1959 National Heroes Assembly.

Tian, who is from the same generation as Wang Jinxi and Shi Chuanxiang, requested someone to write the letter on his behalf to express his gratitude to the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions. Labor model Tian Hanzhou expressed how the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions helped renovate his home, and shared how the caring and affectionate support from the organization made him feel incredibly warm and moved.

What Tian mentioned in the letter was the "elderly adaptation" transformation project for families of difficult labor models, which was initiated by the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions earlier this year.

Since 2023, the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions has included the "elderly adaptation" transformation of families of difficult labor models as one of the projects aimed at promoting the spirit of labor models and addressing practical needs.

The project consists of six stages: investigation and survey, customized design, individual construction, project acceptance, audit settlement, and summary report.

After conducting initial household surveys and communicating and negotiating with elderly labor models, the renovation of 51 families of difficult labor models has been completed, following the principles of urgency and importance. The renovations mainly involve replacing toilets, showerheads, and bathroom heaters; providing functional wheelchairs, nursing beds, shower chairs, and non-slip pads; lowering kitchen stoves; installing handrails, anti-dry gas stoves, night lights, remote-controlled lights, and cameras; as well as widening and changing doors.

Currently, all renovation projects have been completed.

Through the implementation of the "elderly adaptation" transformation, the practical difficulties faced by labor model families have been effectively addressed. Relevant officials from the Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions expressed that with the arrival of an aging society, the federation will further enhance its services for elderly labor models.

The Ningxia Federation of Trade Unions will continue to carry out "elderly adaptation" transformation for families of difficult labor models, bringing the warmth of the Party, government, and trade union organization to more labor model families, and allowing elderly labor models to feel that the country will not forget them. This will foster a strong atmosphere in society that respects, learns from, cares for, and strives to become labor models.
