A road through the bamboo forest in Qionglai city, Southwest China's Sichuan province, has gained widespread attention on the internet recently, drawing numerous visitors to experience its unique charm.

Many netizens called it "Qionglai Duku Highway", acknowledging its potential to rival the esteemed Duku Highway in Northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, which is known as one of the world's most beautiful roads.

The road is actually named Daohuo, linking the Daozuo market town in Linji town to Huojing town, one of the earliest locations in the world where natural gas was discovered and utilized. It stretches nearly 20 kilometers, encompassing a landscape of bamboo forests throughout.

The most spectacular segment of this road lies at the junction of Daozuo and Huojing, where it forms seven sharp bends. People can feast their eyes upon the idyllic rural landscape of western Sichuan, with distant clusters of traditional dwellings veiled in mist and clouds.

Yang Ningxu, head of Linji town, is both surprised and delighted about the online popularity that has been garnered by this road. She said the town plans to build some rest spots for people on self-drive tours, while excavating local cultural resources along the Daohuo Road to enrich its tourist attractions.

Yang said Linji will hold a gastronomic culture festival on the Winter Solstice, which will fall on Friday. It aims to attract visitors to taste the famous Daozuo mutton and embark on a journey to explore the biodiversity of the Longmen Mountain.
