In the lower Paleolithic age, the Central Plain had a subtropical climate. Rivers crisscrossed the area, marshes and lakes were abundant, and the western area featured towering mountains, while the eastern part had vast grasslands with dense vegetation. Wild animals like Proboscidipparion, Stegodon, Sinomegaceros, and Coelodonta antiquitatis coexisted harmoniously with humans.

These relics are the ivory fossils of various species of ancient elephant, unearthed in Lingbao, Henan province. They offer a fascinating glimpse into the prehistoric biodiversity of the region and contribute valuable insight into the ancient fauna that once roamed the Central Plain.
