In Nanzhao of western Henan province, fossils of ancient humans have been excavated or collected. These discoveries fill the gaps in the distribution of ancient humans in the Central Plain, indicating that at least 600,000 to 500,000 years ago, ancient humans were active on the Central Plain.

This collection of stone tools was excavated from Xiaokongshan site - a late paleolithic site that yielded such artifacts such as lithic cores, flake tools, chopping tools, carving tools, and stone balls. This site provides new material for further research on the origin and development of humans. Simultaneously, it holds significant value for studying Quaternary geology and paleontology in the Central Plain.
