Liubo, a board game popular between the 5th century BC and the 3rd century, got its name after the number of its gaming pieces. Six small sticks and six pieces were used in the game. It was played by two people, each with six pieces. During the game, sticks would be tossed first, and then the pieces would be moved according to the result. The goal was to take all six pieces from the opponent.
