Wenzhou Longwan International Airport recently welcomed a surge of passengers returning home for the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Renowned calligraphers from Wenzhou's Longwan district were on hand at Terminal 2, creating auspicious "福" characters and Spring Festival couplets to be gifted to travelers. In addition, young dancers and students from the district gave a variety of performances, including songs, dances, and traditional Chinese instrument performances.

Chen Xu, assistant to the general manager of the ground service company at the airport, revealed that over the past 10 days, the airport has handled a total of 2,847 flight takeoffs and landings and served about 388,400 passengers.

During the 40-day Spring Festival travel period from Jan 26 to March 5, Wenzhou Longwan International Airport is expected to see 11,000 passenger flight takeoffs and landings, representing an 18.84 percent increase from the previous year. Passenger throughput is forecasted to reach 1.43 million, up 22.6 percent compared to 2023.

The airport has been enhancing the quality of its services to ensure a pleasant travel experience for passengers.
