Celebrating the 50th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations, Sunway University stands at the forefront of strengthening ties with esteemed Chinese universities. Committed to fostering mutual academic growth, Sunway University values its collaborations with Chinese institutions to propel innovation and cross-cultural understanding.

Acknowledging China's talent and pioneering research, Sunway University actively fosters partnerships with Chinese institutions to leverage each other's strengths and enhance the overall education ecosystem in Asia and beyond.

The recent collaboration with Hebei University of Technology (Langfang International Campus) reflects Sunway University's dedication to nurturing long-term partnerships with Chinese universities. By synergising expertise in engineering and English language studies, this collaboration not only enhances academic offerings but also fosters a global mindset among students, preparing them for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

In addition, the university is embarking on a journey of academic exchange with multiple universities in Heilongjiang province. This endeavour represents the university's inaugural venture into academic collaboration within a north-eastern province in China. By fostering collaborative research endeavours and facilitating student and faculty mobility programmes, Sunway University aims to create a vibrant ecosystem where ideas flourish and knowledge transcends boundaries.

Professor Sibrandes Poppema, president of Sunway University, said, "At Sunway University, we believe in the transformative power of international collaboration to drive innovation and excellence in education. Our partnerships with Chinese universities not only enrich the academic experience for our students and faculty but also pave the way for impactful research and meaningful cross-cultural exchanges."

Moreover, Sunway Business School, in collaboration with the Belt and Road Initiative Caucus for Asia Pacific (BRICAP) and the Guangzhou Institute of Greater Bay Area (GIG), led the 2024 China-ASEAN Economic Seminar. This event, attended by H.E. Mr. Zheng Xuefang, minister of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malaysia, underscored Sunway University's commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration between China and ASEAN. By providing a platform for policymakers, academics, and industry leaders to exchange insights and explore opportunities, Sunway University plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of regional cooperation and economic integration.

In retrospect, Sunway University's collaboration with Chinese universities reflects its unwavering dedication to excellence, innovation, and inclusivity. By embracing diversity and nurturing partnerships based on mutual respect and shared values, Sunway University aims to chart a path towards a brighter future for academia and society as a whole.
