Golden Egg Project in Yongtai revolutionizes duck farming

It manages the ducks' feeding, drinking and waste disposal processes seamlessly. Feeding machines operate on schedule, drinking water is available all the time and waste is collected on especially designed belts to be repurposed into organic fertilizer.
"Compared to traditional outdoor free-range methods where one caretaker can manage up to 3,000 ducks, the automated system in a single duck house can accommodate 50,000 ducks with just one caretaker, yielding about 700 metric tons of duck eggs annually," said Xu Jianhua, an on-site manager of Yongtai County Golden Egg Development Co Ltd.
"This not only reduces production costs, but also minimizes the biological risks associated with human-duck interactions, ensuring a more stable environment within the duck houses," Xu added.
