Matchmaking dynamo powered up to generate deals in Henan

Conference aims to boost cooperation and exchanges between the province and multinational corporations

Henan province in Central China is once again staging a key event to intensify communication and cooperation with multinationals and attract and utilize foreign capital.

The 2024 Cooperation and Exchange Conference Between Henan Province and Multinational Corporations that is being held in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan, primarily on Wednesday and Thursday, features several major activities. As well as talks between provincial officials and important guests, there will also be a signing ceremony for cooperation projects, matchmaking for Henan-based companies and multinationals and cultural experience events.

In all, three matchmaking activities have been arranged for companies based in Henan and multinationals, focusing on modern medicine, food and new energy.

In the modern medicine matchmaking event, internationally noted biopharmaceutical and high-end medical instruments companies are expected to have discussions with those from Henan about cooperation. The meeting will also highlight the advantages of a medical science city in Zhengzhou and aims to promote high-quality development of Henan's modern medicine industry.

Focusing on industries such as snacks, cold-chain food, alcoholic beverages, and grain processing, the food sector-themed activity has invited well-known domestic and foreign companies to engage in dialogues on cooperation with the aim of facilitating Henan's transformation from being "a granary of the nation" to "a kitchen of the nation" and ultimately "a dining table of the world".

Focusing on new energy industries such as hydrogen energy, wind energy and solar energy, in the new energy activity noted foreign companies and enterprises from Henan will discuss cooperation and ways to optimize the sector's industrial structures, exploring development paths for new energy industries and equipment manufacturing related to new energy.

More than 400 guests are expected to attend the conference, including foreign envoys in China, representatives from international organizations, the top executives of multinationals in China and representatives from noted investment promotion organizations and chambers of commerce.

To date, it has been confirmed that 193 multinationals will participate in the conference, including Singaporean Wilmar International in the modern food field and German Bayer from the modern medicine industry.

The guests are encouraged to visit different cities in the province and the Henan Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone to learn more about development of industries in these places and talk about cooperation.

The cooperation and exchange conference is a significant economic and trade exchange event hosted by the Henan provincial government that is expected to generate fresh momentum for the opening-up of the province. The event's main objectives are promoting Henan's image and opening-up and the signing of a batch of new investment projects.

To prepare for the event, the organizers have visited multinational corporations' headquarters and regional headquarters for project negotiations. Different departments of the Henan provincial government and cities involved have worked together to ensure the smooth running of the event.
