The opening ceremony of the 2024 Cooperation and Exchange Conference between Henan Province and Multinational Corporations is to take place in Henan on Sept 25, with 193 multinational companies having already confirmed their participation.
This year's event will arrange targeted matchmaking activities focusing on the province's key industrial chains and advantageous industries such as food, new energy, and modern medicine, with the goal being to further expand areas of cooperation.
As a major driver of investment attraction in Henan, the cooperation and exchange meeting has shown significant results.
At last year's event, Thailand's S.Khonkaen signed a cooperative agreement with Wuyang Economic Development Zone to establish a high-quality meat processing factory in Wuyang. The local government has established a green channel for the project from signing to design to construction. It is expected to start production in November this year, and after the first phase enters full production by June next year, the annual output value could reach as high as 600 million yuan ($85.26 million).
Zhuo Wenwei, the company's relevant person in charge, spoke highly of Henan's sound business environment. He added that the company highly values Henan's strategic location and strong food raw material supply capacity, and is actively planning the construction of the second phase to further expand investment scale.
"Taking the cooperation and exchange meeting with multinational companies as an opportunity, we will deepen the reform of the foreign investment management system, actively explore the business environment, rights protection, market access, investment promotion, and convenience of life, and attract foreign investment to Henan with a better environment, speeding up the construction of a more competitive inland open hub." said Wang Zhenli, director of the Department of Commerce of Henan Province.
