Henan achieves high-quality development through high-level opening-up

In recent years, Central China's Henan province has implemented a comprehensive strategy for institutional opening-up, deepening its services related to the high-quality construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Henan Free Trade Zone has accumulated 571 institutional innovation achievements, with 19 of them being promoted nationwide; the province’s Zhengzhou Airport ranks among the top 40 cargo airports in the world; China-Europe freight trains in the province have made more than 10,000 trips; the province engages in cross-border e-commerce with over 200 countries and regions; and construction on a new channel for Henan's maritime exports has been accelerated.

Henan's foreign trade consistently ranks in the top 10 nationwide, with over 11,000 enterprises having strong import and export performance. The actual utilization of domestic and foreign funds is steadily increasing, providing strong support for the construction of a modern industrial system.

Henan is an important comprehensive transportation hub in China, and its superior location and transportation provide convenient conditions for cross-border logistics and investment trade, attracting more and more enterprises to invest in the province.

Additionally, Henan has attached great importance to attracting high-level talent to bolster its high-quality development. In the past three years, various research and development investments in Henan have grown at an average annual rate of 13 percent, and the annual growth rate of technology contract turnover is 62.3 percent. The province is currently home to 12,000 high-tech enterprises, and the number of small and medium sized science and technology enterprises has reached 26,000, doubling in the past three years. The number of national-level innovation platforms has increased to 172, helping enterprises to enhance innovation and optimize resource allocation efficiency.
