Yongtai's premium plums nurture county's prosperity

Over the past 75 years, the county has harnessed the forces of change, helping to propel its economy towards unprecedented growth and sustainability.
Witnessing an exponential rise in its GDP from 6.6 million yuan ($852,621) in 1949 to a staggering 37.43 billion yuan in 2023, Yongtai's economic ascent has been nothing short of remarkable.
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Yongtai has made significant strides, climbing 17 spots in the provincial rankings to secure the 47th position in Fujian province.
Its fiscal prowess has also grown, as reflected in the total revenue rankings, where it's soared from 72nd to 48th in the province in the period, with local fiscal revenue catapulting from 73rd to 49th.
Moreover, urban residents have reaped the benefits, with per capita disposable income nearly doubling.
This transformation has marked a seismic shift from being a linchpin in poverty alleviation measures to a beacon of economic prosperity, firmly establishing Yongtai as one of the top 10 counties for economic development in the province.
