Intl delegation traces Silk Road legacy in Ulaanqab and Datong
On Oct 16, the "International Insights into China" delegation began its third-day journey. The delegation visited the Qisumu International Logistics Industrial Park in Ulaanqab, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, as well as Huayan Temple, Nine-Dragon Wall, and the Ancient City of Datong in Shanxi province.

At the Qisumu International Logistics Industrial Park, the delegation gained insights into the vital role of the China-Europe freight train services in the Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor. Members witnessed the container loading process firsthand, understanding the entire process from loading to shipping and experiencing the efficient logistics system's significant impact on international trade.
Dubbed the "Steel Camel Caravan", the China Railway Express traverses the Eurasian continent and serves as a pioneer in Inner Mongolia's opening-up.

In the afternoon, the delegation explored the Huayan Temple, which dates back to the Liao (916-1125) and Jin (1115-1234) dynasties. Renowned for its grand architecture, exquisite sculptures and murals, this temple showcases well-preserved artifacts from the Liao Dynasty, offering the delegation members a profound understanding of Datong's ancient cultural heritage.
The group then visited the Nine-Dragon Wall in Datong, a colorful glazed wall dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The wall spans 45.5 meters in length, 8 meters in height, and is 2.02 meters at its thickest point. Its magnificent scale and intricate dragon carvings captivated all present. The vibrant colors, delicate craftsmanship and the reflection of nine majestic dragons in the pool before the screen created a spectacular sight.

In the evening, the delegation strolled along Datong's illuminated ancient city walls. Amid the glowing lights and the city's profound historical ambiance, members expressed their deep impressions of this ancient yet vibrant city.

The "International Insights into China" event is guided by the Cyberspace Administration of China's network communication bureau and co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Cyberspace Administration of Shanxi Province, and the China Daily Website.
