Yongtai county's plum blossoms cultivate cultural tourism

At the event venue, Yongtai county announced eight plum blossom tourism routes. Aside from Daxi village, there are other prime plum blossom viewing spots like Xiaozhou village in Gelin town, Pubian village and Xiyang village. 

Yongtai is renowned as the hometown of plums, with its long history of cultivating the fruit. Currently, the county has over 60,000 mu (4,002 hectares) of plum orchards, yielding more than 70,000 metric tons per annum, making it one of the main green plum production areas in Fujian province.

In recent years, Yongtai has moved to fully expand the cultivation of its plums, promoting the integration of cultural tourism and the economy. 

During the Chinese New Year period, the county will stage activities like flower markets, the sales of agricultural products and the Yongtai Spring Cultural Tourism Month, presenting a cultural tourism extravaganza of  beautiful scenery, delicious cuisines, hot springs, rural specialties and festive traditions to visitors from all over.
