Anji county in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province has developed over 220 kilometers of greenway that link urban and rural areas while enhancing the county's picturesque appeal.
Built along mountains and rivers, the greenway preserves Anji's original landscape while incorporating bamboo and rural aesthetics. From Yucun village in Tianhuangping town, it stretches northward, connecting key townships and scenic spots into a unified ecological corridor. By integrating existing trails and enhancing infrastructure, the project has created a seamless network that supports both recreation and tourism.

Equipped with smart features, the greenway offers an upgraded outdoor experience. In Lingxi Park, a digital kiosk allows runners to check real-time exercise data, store belongings, and track rankings displayed on an interactive screen. Special eco-friendly materials, including permeable surfaces that store rainwater for irrigation, ensure sustainability while providing a comfortable jogging surface. At night, luminescent pathways enhance visibility and safety, making the greenway accessible around the clock.

Beyond leisure, the greenway has sparked new business opportunities. In Xinfeng village, the riverside trail has revitalized the area, attracting visitors and inspiring local entrepreneurs. Huang Lu, a returning entrepreneur, is developing a forest-side camping site that draws from the scenic appeal of the greenway. A new boat tour service on the West Tiaoxi River has seen steady demand, prompting further investments in waterfront attractions.
With its expanding greenway, Anji continues to embody the "Green is Gold" philosophy, balancing ecological preservation with economic growth while offering residents and visitors a poetic escape into nature.
