The third edition of Le Festival du Dragon Boat was recently held in Paris, France, where Liu Xiaying, an inheritor of paper cutting from Jinyun county in East China's Zhejiang province shared the revered craft with French folks.

During the event, 10 teams from China and France fought it out in spirited dragon boat races. At the same time, an intangible cultural heritage market outside the competition venue transformed into a mobile cultural exhibition space.

Liu showed her paper-cutting prowess on-site and interacted with Chinese expats and French friends, enabling them to closely experience the captivating charm of Jinyun paper cutting.

The works offered a glimpse into Jinyun's Huangdi culture, or Yellow Emperor culture, through the unique art form.

At an intangible art special presentation event, Liu's masterpiece depicting Huangdi culture took center stage.

This artwork vividly depicted the mythological Yellow Emperor's ascent into heaven on a golden dragon amid the breathtaking scenery on the Dinghu Peak in Jinyun's Xiandu scenic area.

At its lower right corner is a grand and solemn worshiping ceremony, where people clad in traditional attire pay devout respects to the Yellow Emperor.

From Jinyun to Paris, Jinyun paper cutting has bridged cultural divides with its intricate artistry. The cultural exchange not only propelled Jinyun paper cutting into the international spotlight but also offered a vibrant model of Huangdi culture's global outreach.
