Musa, a young man from Ningxia started his own business of online live streaming after graduating from college. At the end of 2023, he arrived in Pakistan with the hope of sharing Ningxia’s story with the local people and promoting the friendship between China and Pakistan to the world.

"We want to promote Pakistani specialties and handmade products to the domestic market through e-commerce. At the same time, we aim to boost the economy of the two sides through the transportation of the Belt and Road Initiative. This is our ultimate goal," said Musa.

A live-streaming site in Pakistan

Before embarking on this journey, Musa and his team made thorough preparations.

On the day of live streaming, the team also invited Dr. Li Yi, a Ningxia’s local who works in Pakistan, to join in the interactive session of the event. Tasting Ningxia’s eight treasures tea and showcasing Zhongning goji berries from Ningxia, Musa’s live saw a peak in views and clicks.

After the live stream, Musa ventured into local rural areas to gain a deeper understanding of agricultural development in Pakistan and learn about local specialties such as pine nuts, mangoes, cherries, and dates. He also visited handicraft workshops where he explored handmade products like towels, cashmere scarves, and carpets.

"We want to establish a Ningxia Silk Road Cross-border E-commerce Base in Pakistan. During this visit, we connected with the Ministry of Agriculture and other officials in Pakistan. Their agricultural products could be transported to our bonded zone in Ningxia through railway transportation, and we could sell their products in our live streaming room," Musa introduced.

On the eve of the upcoming Spring Festival, Musa will conduct his first live stream on a national television station in Pakistan at the invitation of local government. When talking about this attempt, Musa expressed his excitement and his hopes for the success of the event.

"The income of the locals in Pakistan is not very high, but they welcome our Chinese friends, making me feel very heartened. It is the best testament to the friendship between China and Pakistan."
