Ningxia Qingtongxia Wine Region shines at Hong Kong event

The Qingtongxia Wine Region, located at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia, showcased its exceptional wines at a promotional event in Hong Kong on Dec 3. 

Over 20 regional wineries presented their exquisite wines to more than 100 guests, including Ningxia and Hong Kong leaders and professionals, representatives from various Hong Kong enterprises, and media outlets.

The event featured wine displays, tastings, and detailed introductions to various wines, offering attendees a comprehensive understanding of the development of the Qingtongxia wine industry. Guests were guided through tastings of different wine varieties, allowing them to fully appreciate the historical depth and quality of the region's wines. 

The plaque ceremony, which marked the inauguration of the Ningxia Helan Mountain Eastern Foothill Qingtongxia Wine Display and Marketing Center, was a highlight of the event. 

Qingtongxia region's wine industry dates back to 1998, making it one of the earliest areas in Ningxia to cultivate grapes. It currently boasts 153,000 mu (10,200 hectares) of vineyards. 

The region has 24 wineries, including nine classified and seven A-level tourist wineries. Wine enterprises in the area have achieved a sales revenue of 450 million yuan ($61.85 million), with a total output value exceeding 8 billion yuan.
