The Northwest Regional Skiing Event of the 1st National Fitness Games was held at the Jingyuan Yahao Ski Resort in Ningxia on Saturday.  

Three teams from Shaanxi province, Gansu province, and Ningxia Hui autonomous region, featuring 26 athletes, competed in an exciting two-day skiing showdown.  

As the starting gun fired, athletes launched from the starting line like arrows, skillfully using their poles and skis to glide swiftly down the snowy trails. The atmosphere was both intense and exhilarating. 

In recent years, Ningxia has hosted several major winter sports events, including the 2023 Ningxia Youth Alpine Skiing Championships and the Alpine Skiing Competition of Ningxia’s 16th Sports Games.

As the venue for these events, the Ningxia Jingyuan Yahao Ski Resort boasts extensive experience in hosting competitions. It is currently the largest comprehensive ski resort in the Ningxia-Gansu-Shaanxi region, combining ski tourism and international competition capabilities. Spanning 1.6 million square meters, the resort features advanced facilities, high-standard slopes, and complete service offerings. It is also one of the few ski resorts in China to adopt smart management systems, integrating competitive and recreational skiing experiences.
