Ningxia's tourism industry has advanced rapidly in recent years, with visitor satisfaction and experience steadily improving. New attractions like Manpu town have created distinctive regional tourism brands.

The number of domestic and international visitors to Ningxia rose from 34.3 million in 2020 to 81.3 million in 2024, while tourism revenue increased from 19.91 billion yuan ($2.78 billion) to 76.98 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate of 24.08 percent and 40.23 percent respectively.

Rural tourism in Ningxia has been thriving as well, attracting 16 million visitors and generating 1.4 billion yuan in revenue in 2024. Forty-six villages and towns have been selected as national key villages and towns for rural tourism.

Ningxia has also hosted four consecutive International Wine Culture and Tourism Festivals and developed 24 winery and goji berry attractions. Its "wine plus cultural tourism" model has become a national pilot program case study.

In an effort to cultivate its reputation as the "hometown of stars", Ningxia has organized starry sky tourism conferences and developed luxury desert hotels and astronomy camps.

Lanshan Mountain Park has become a popular social media hotspot, and premium tourism performances are attracting large numbers of tourists. Ningxia has also promoted tourism consumption through consumer-friendly policies like discounted tickets.
