The 2025 Helan Mountains Golden Autumn Hiking Carnival was held on Oct 18-19 at the North Wudang Ecotourism Area in Shizuishan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region.

Centered on ecological protection, nationwide fitness, cultural experiences, cuisine, and consumption, the event has attracted 136,800 visitors and fueled consumption of over 45 million yuan ($6.31 million) in catering, hotel, retail and other sectors.

As the event's main attraction, a hiking carnival held on Oct 19 gathered 8,440 hiking fans from around the country, with 12 pop-up cheering stations and eight aid stations. Bonuses and vouchers worth up to 5,000 yuan as well as medals and awards also motivated the players.

Classical songs related to the theme "protecting the father mountain", Ningxia cultural performances, and interactive activities with NPCs have provided an immersive experience.

Vouchers worth up to 500,000 yuan were distributed online and offline to promote consumption. The North Wudang Ecotourism Area attracted 75,000 visitors and saw total revenue of over 550,000 yuan.

During the event, the accompanying "Red Leaves over Helan Mountains: Cultural Memories in Autumn" photography, calligraphy, painting, and short video competition selected 100 outstanding works for display in the forest park of the ecotourism area, attracting 20,000 visitors.
