The Drum Tower North Street in Xingqing district of Yinchuan, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, has become a distinctive music culture theme block built on the historical and cultural background and music commerce of the Drum Tower.

It has now become a new landmark in the old city area that blends local charm and artistic flair.

The damaged bricks and walls have been repaired with wall paintings and artistically illuminated trees. Classic album covers and singer and band names are vividly displayed on the wall through creative wall art.

The street has been transformed into a borderless performing arts space thanks to multiple embedded urban micro stages. When the weather is warm, music lovers improvise on stage with guitars, their songs swaying in the breeze.

"The street is an area where music and piano shops gather, so the renovation focuses on enhancing the musical atmosphere. The small stages on the street corner outside the piano shops are connected to the main stage, making it normal to listen to music and enjoy performances everywhere just by opening the door," said Ma Jing, deputy director of street office.
