Ningxia's revolutionary village shows new vitality as filming location

Badou village in Haiyuan county, Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui autonomous region, welcomed some special guests on Nov 22 — the crew of the red short drama Conch Blows on the Plateau.

The short drama, which started filming on Nov 18, is based on a conch cultural relic, known as a first-level red (referring to revolutionary themes) cultural relic in the Ningxia Museum.

Li Shengxiong, producer and male lead of the short drama, said that one of the main reasons for choosing Ningxia as the shooting location is that the immersive experience of real-life shooting is irreplaceable, which can maximize the restoration of the real scene of the Red Army's practice in the past.

He added that the red resources in Ningxia are highly compatible with the theme of the drama, making it natural for both creative promotion and subsequent dissemination.

Haiyuan boasts rich red culture resources, with over 40 existing red revolution sites and relics.

Badou village is one of the precious ancient villages in Haiyuan county. In recent years, the local government has taken measures such as setting up protection signs and developing special protection plans to protect historical buildings.

The arrival of the crew has opened up a new path for the vitalization and utilization of ancient villages, making the ancient village more well-known in film and television dissemination.
