The Xixia Imperial Tombs, an ancient imperial tomb complex in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, will offer free admission to tourists across the country from Dec 1 to the end of February 2026.
Extra consumption, including the sightseeing buses, 3D and 4D movies, VR experience as well as guide services, are not included in free entrance tickets.
Visitors can obtain free admission tickets at the ticket hall with valid identification, while tourist groups must make reservations in advance via tourist agencies.
In the package tickets, entrance tickets are included as complimentary items within the overall price, which are non-refundable and have no change once sold. Hence visitors should pay attention to the specific projects and relevant principles before buying ticket packages.
The Xixia Imperial Tombs, inscribed in this year’s World Heritage List, are located at the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains. Boasting nine imperial mausoleums, 271 subordinated tombs and other ruins, they are the largest, most well-preserved and highest-level archaeological sites since the Xixia Dynasty (1038-1227), indicating Xixia’s role as a central hub on the Silk Road during the 11th to 13th centuries.
