The premium wine-producing region along the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region is set to roll out 15 wine-themed cultural and tourism activities throughout June.

A centerpiece of the month's offerings will be the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, running from June 19 to 21.

On June 19, Haibao Park in Yinchuan will host a traditional boat race alongside a dedicated wine promotion event. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample and purchase regional specialties and wines while immersing themselves in folk cultural activities against the backdrop of the races.

On the same day, Sunshine Winery will debut its latest sparkling wine with a launch event. Visitors can tour the vineyard, explore underground cellars, and enjoy a curated refreshment experience in a pastoral setting.

Sports and culture will converge at Helanhong Winery from June 17 to 21, as it hosts a basketball invitational tournament. The competition will feature six teams from Fujian and neighboring provinces and six local Ningxia teams.

An accompanying exhibition area will showcase wines and intangible cultural heritage products, offering spectators a multifaceted cultural experience.

For families and younger travelers, a range of leisure activities is also on the calendar.

Beginning June 13, the Meilin market in Dulaan Wine Town will host a bonfire night every weekend. Guests can gather around the fire to listen to live music and stargaze.

Those seeking deeper immersion can join a guided winery tour of the Jinshan production area, scheduled for June 12 to 15 and June 26 to 29.

The itinerary includes visits to renowned local wineries, as well as opportunities to explore the Helan Mountain rock paintings, the Xixia Imperial Tombs, and the Tengger Desert — an experience that pairs premium wine tasting with the dramatic desert landscapes of Northwest China.
