Delegations from University of Lagos and University of Saskatchewan visit BIT

On December 7th, delegations from the University of Lagos in Nigeria and the University of Saskatchewan in Canada visit the Beijing Institute of Technology. 

On December 7th, Vice President Lucian Obinna Chukwu from the University of Lagos in Nigeria and Assistant Vice President of Research Darcy Marciniuk from the University of Saskatchewan in Canada led their respective delegations to visit the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). BIT Vice President Wang Bo met with the them in the 334-conference room of Building No 2. 

Wang warmly welcomed the delegations and thanked them for their contributions to Confucius Institutes' development. He highlighted the university's recent progress in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international cooperation, and emphasized the successful collaboration in establishing the Confucius Institutes, which has led to organized teaching, cultural activities, and significant achievements. He said BIT will continue to support the two Confucius Institutes, fostering cooperation and friendship between BIT and the two universities.

Chukwu conveyed greetings from Folasade Ogunsola, the president of the University of Lagos, to Wang, highly praising the achievements of the Confucius Institute there and expressing the desire to further explore cooperation in student joint training and research based on the foundation of promoting the development of the Confucius Institute between the two universities.

Marciniuk stated that the University of Saskatchewan maintains close communication with local authorities, communities, and institutions, creating a favorable environment for the development of the Confucius Institute, and it will continue to support the institute and utilize it as a platform to deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two universities.

The delegations toured the National Engineering Research Center for Electric Vehicles and the history museum at BIT.

The delegation of the University of Lagos also met with the university's students currently studying at BIT.

The delegation of the University of Saskatchewan participated in academic exchanges with BIT's Laboratory for Brain Health Intelligent Assessment and Intervention.

The delegations tour BIT and participate in academic exchanges.

BIT and the two universities also discussed joint talent cultivation, student exchanges, and research collaboration, with hopes of leading to cooperation agreements.

Representatives from BIT's School of Medical Technology, School of Foreign Languages, Office of International Students, and Office of International Affairs accompanied the delegations on their visit.
