The China Society for Human Rights Studies recently held a seminar in Beijing to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The seminar was organized by the Science and Technology Human Rights Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology, in a bid to promote discussions on human rights issues and exchange experience in the field of human rights. It attracted more than 70 participants, including officials, journalists, experts and scholars, and representatives of social organizations.
Qi Yanping, director of the center's academic committee, highlighted that China's human rights development aligns with the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the nation has innovatively developed its institutional framework, ensuring concrete, effective, and practical rights for the Chinese people.

Han Xiutao, director of the center, emphasized the significant role of science and technology in expanding the theoretical and practical value of human rights, and in promoting international human rights governance in the digital age, and called for optimizing technology ethics governance to achieve a balanced development between technological innovation and human rights protection.
