From May 26 to 30, the 9th International Symposium on Advances in Computational Heat Transfer, organized by the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT), was held in Istanbul, Turkiye.
Experts and scholars from China, the United States, Russia, Canada, India, Japan, South Korea and other countries attended the conference.
During the opening ceremony, the first Hewitt-Goldstein Young Investigator Award was presented.
The Hewitt-Goldstein Young Investigator Award is conferred in recognition of young scholars who have made outstanding achievements in the fields of heat and mass transfer and energy applications and the honoree is selected by the ICHMT.
Professor Li Mingjia, from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Engineering at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), stood out and became the sole recipient of the inaugural Hewitt-Goldstein Young Investigator Award for her outstanding achievements in theoretical research and engineering applications.
The award ceremony was hosted by Professor Yogesh Jaluria, a renowned expert in the field of heat and mass transfer. Professor Jaluria, along with Professor Pınar Mengüç, presented the award certificate to Professor Li Mingjia.
Li was invited to deliver the first keynote speech at the conference, where she mainly discussed her research on large-scale energy storage technology and thermo-electrochemical coupling for energy-material regulation.
Li has long been engaged in research on theories and technologies for efficient energy utilization, thermal protection, and energy storage.
She has achieved excellent results in both theoretical research and engineering applications, with her research findings published in internationally renowned journals such as Energy Storage Materials.
Several of her papers have been among the top 1% of highly cited papers globally and are part of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) Research Fronts with an H-index of 51.
