The opening ceremony of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Chaoyang Tech Park was held on July 8 in Beijing, with the participation of leaders and representatives from local authorities of Beijing municipality and the BIT.

Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that the joint construction of BIT Chaoyang Tech Park by Beijing’s Chaoyang district and BIT is a step forward promoting innovation and achievement in education, science and cultivation of professionals. The park is expected to become a new hub for international cooperation and a main gathering place for emerging industries.

Wen Xian, secretary of the CPC Chaoyang District Committee, said that the establishment of BIT Chaoyang Tech Park has opened a new chapter in the development of "business + technology" in the region. The cooperation between the two sides will bring about more beneficial results and make greater contributions to the construction of Beijing as an international center for scientific and technological innovation.

Yu Yingjie, a member of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee, highly praised the phased achievements of the construction of the BIT Chaoyang Tech Park. He said that with the joint efforts of Beijing's Chaoyang district and the BIT, more alumni enterprises, international organizations and high-tech innovative enterprises will settle in the area, contributing to the construction of Beijing as an international center for scientific and technological innovation.

The participants also visited the innovation exhibition at the BIT Chaoyang Tech Park, learning about its developmental achievements with regard to international organizations, technological innovation and industrial clusters.
