A speaker delivers an address at a forum and conference on the 40th anniversary of the journal Academic Degrees and Graduate Education at the Beijing Institute of Technology's Liangxiang Campus.
The Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) held the graduate education high-quality development forum and conference on the 40th anniversary of the journal Academic Degrees and Graduate Education on its Liangxiang Campus on Dec 14.
The event was conducted through a combination of online and offline methods, with five satellite venues set up in Zhuhai, Jiaxing, Chongqing, Jinan and Shenzhen.
This event is also one of the series of activities celebrating the 40th anniversary of the establishment of BIT's Graduate School.
Leaders and guests from over 50 universities nationwide, along with more than 1,000 participants, attended the event.

Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and chief editor of Academic Degrees and Graduate Education, said that BIT, as one of the first universities in the country to have the authority to confer doctoral and master's degrees and to pilot graduate schools, has been a firsthand participant in and beneficiary of the development of China's graduate education sector.
Zhang related that in recent years, BIT has focused on the high-quality development of graduate education, making efforts to explore new paradigms for the transformation and development of high-quality graduate education.
He reviewed the forty-year development history of the journal Academic Degrees and Graduate Education and made suggestions for the future development of the journal. Zhang said he hopes the journal will continue to strengthen its international communication capabilities in the future and contribute Chinese strength to global graduate education governance.
During the event, BIT also held pre-job training for newly appointed graduate supervisors in 2024.
