Beijing Institute of Technology and SAIC Motor Corporation Limited sign a strategic cooperation agreement.

Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) and SAIC Motor Corporation Limited signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Jan 19.

During the signing ceremony, Zhang Jun, secretary of the CPC BIT Committee and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expressed gratitude to SAIC for its long-standing support to the university.

Zhang congratulated SAIC on its remarkable achievements and briefly introduced the recent development in BIT's educational undertakings.

Zhang Jun said that the two sides' areas of expertise are highly complementary, with vast opportunities for cooperation. He hoped that the signing of this agreement would serve as a catalyst to establish a community for innovative development in the automotive industry.

Wang Xiaoqiu, secretary of the CPC SAIC Committee and chairman of SAIC, expressed gratitude to BIT for its strong support of SAIC over the years.

Wang commended BIT for its recent educational achievements and briefly outlined the development of SAIC. He underscored that BIT has significant academic strengths in areas such as electric vehicles, automatic control and new materials, which align closely with the development direction of SAIC. The signing of this strategic cooperation agreement holds great significance in driving SAIC's deepened reforms and innovative development forward.

Under the agreement, both sides will focus on electrification, intelligence and unmanned technologies, and they will engage in comprehensive cooperation in areas such as technological innovation, platform construction and development of professionals.

Leaders of SAIC also visited BIT's historical museum, technology achievements exhibition and the National Engineering Research Center for Electric Vehicles.
