
The China Industrial Design Week and the fifth session of the sixth council meeting of the China Industrial Design Association were held in Suzhou, Jiangsu province on Nov 8. During the event, the School of Design and Arts at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) was approved as the "China Industrial Design Association Innovative Design Institute", focusing on "multimodal interaction".
In April, the China Industrial Design Association launched the selection process for a new round of "Innovation Design Institutes". The aim is to strengthen the exemplary role of key players in design innovation, advance new formats and models in the service and manufacturing industries, and cultivate globally leading innovation design research institutes. Led by Professor Lu Zhaolin, the School of Design and Arts at BIT successfully won approval in this selection.
As a member of the Education Committee of the China Industrial Design Association, the School of Design and Arts at BIT will continue to leverage its disciplinary and talent advantages, closely align with national strategies and industry needs, and actively contribute to the high-quality development of industrial design education and the design industry in China.
