Shandong Port Group (SPG), which is currently the world's largest port conglomerate in terms of cargo capacity, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Tourism Group in Qingdao, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province on Dec 22.

According to the agreement, both sides will uphold the principle of win-win results and shared benefits, utilize their strengths to better serve national strategies, and deepen cooperative relations to achieve win-win development.

Wan Min, chairman of China Tourism Group, said that since its establishment in 2019, the overall strength of SPG has been further enhanced. It now boasts abundant coastline resources, and the two sides have broad prospects for jointly developing the tourism industry.

Currently, China Tourism Group is making efforts to build a tourism complex focusing on urban leisure and lifestyle. The group will give full play to its own advantages and strengthen cooperation with SPG in areas such as hotel construction, tourism finance, and tourism transportation, and the two parties will work together to build the "Wonderland Coastline" tourism brand in a bid to promote the high-quality development of SPG's cruise tourism industry, according to Wan.

The chairman of SPG, Huo Gaoyuan, stated during the signing ceremony that China presently leads the world in domestic tourism thanks to its excellent development model and abundant resources. To promote the growth of medium and high-end offshore tourism and to contribute to the establishment of a new growth pattern, the two parties will intensify their cooperation.
