The 2021 Shandong Port Service High-quality Development of the Yellow River Basin Seminar was held by Shandong Port Group or SPG on April 9 in Xi'an – capital city of Northwest China's Shaanxi province – according to the organizers.  

A delegation led by Huo Gaoyuan, Party secretary and chairman of SPG – one of the world's biggest port operators and developers – attended the event.

He discussed measures for the practical cooperation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin, as well as signed a series of strategic cooperation agreements with 70 representatives from government authorities, port groups, railways and corporate customers.

In the service of the environmental and ecological protection of the Yellow River Basin – or the YRB – and its high-quality national strategic development, Shandong is reportedly playing a key role in promoting the central cities in the areas along the Yellow River, as well as in the development of urban agglomeration.

Shaanxi is a core region of ecological and environmental protection, as well as for the high-quality development of the YRB. As such, it has always been regarded as one of the strategic business hinterlands for SPG.

The company has adopted it a bridgehead to expand port functions, drive logistics operations in West China, as well as serving the vast western region, while connecting Belt and Road Initiative trade routes.

As a result, SPG has become a reliable port operator for maritime and commercial trading in Shaanxi after 32 years of effort.
