As the container ship SENTOSA TRADER docked at the Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal of Qingdao Port, a subsidiary of Shandong Port Group, or SPG, on July 4, the CPX shipping route service of CULines, which belongs to China United Lines Ltd, was successfully launched at the Qingdao Port.

The service is the second international container route of CULines to open at Qingdao Port and will expand Qingdao Port's shipping service network to destinations involved in the Belt and Road Initiative and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

The service's port rotation includes Qingdao-Shanghai-Ningbo-Manila (North)-Manila (South) -Qingdao. It offers a convenient, efficient, and high-quality near-sea trade channel for ports in Shandong and enterprises in surrounding areas. As such, bulk commodities such as furniture, wood, and plywood, as well as many agricultural products, can be exported to Southeast Asia via the route.

Tapping into invaluable opportunities brought about by the signing of the RCEP agreement, the new service will fully leverage SPG's role in connecting surrounding areas and collecting resources. It will facilitate high-quality economic and trade cooperation between SPG and ASEAN countries, help SPG comprehensively integrate into the RCEP, build internationally advanced logistics hubs, and serve the new "dual-circulation" development model.
