Due to its industrial foundation and outstanding position, Yantai Port's Penglai area will develop into a wind power equipment business hub in northern China.

In 2018, the Penglai area dealt with the export of wind power equipment, and with the assistance of the provincial government, Penglai aspires to establish a new energy equipment industrial base and a home port for wind power in Yantai. The area is currently experiencing a surge in the export of wind power equipment.

"With the support of Shandong Port Group, Penglai Port has undertaken large wind power export projects, which has in turn promoted the development of the regional wind power industry," according to Luan Yuhui, vice-general manager of Penglai Port.

The benefits of Penglai Port's wind power equipment operation have created a magnetic attraction effect, enabled the integration of the port and the surrounding wind power industry, and spurred the development of a logistics system alliance at Penglai Port.

According to the port's officials, Yantai Port's support has also aided Panglai's quick growth in the wind power equipment business.
