SPG inks cooperation agreement with Linyi, COSCO
Shandong Port Group (SPG) inked a number of cooperation agreements with Linyi government and COSCO on April 28. The three sides agreed to make joint efforts to build an efficient communication platform and coordination system, in order to promote the integrated development of the port, city and industry, as well as make contributions to the high-quality development of the city, which is located in East China's Shandong province.
SPG and Linyi share a long history of close cooperation and a long-lasting relationship, and have also achieved fruitful outcomes. The agreement they reached in 2020 provides a new platform for high-level cooperation. Focusing on the superior geographical advantages, Linyi government laid great emphasis on promoting the development of port-vicinity industries, and has attracted many enterprises that are engaged in premium stainless steel and special steel manufacturing, enabling the city has become a significant hub connecting SPG, and Southern Shandong and Northern Jiangsu Economic Belt. In the future, SPG will actively take part in the operation of Linyi Port, and provide comprehensive services and other whole-process logistics business to its customers. Efforts will also be made to help the southern parts of Shandong participate in the Belt and Road Initiative, and provide convenient and efficient shipping services to local enterprises.
A strong emphasis will also be placed on replacing old growth drivers with new ones, transforming and upgrading traditional driving forces, and fostering new growth drivers. The three parties agreed that they will deepen cooperation in areas including the integrated development of the port, city and industry, in a bid to promote the high-quality economic and social development of Linyi.
