Shandong Port Group (SPG) – one of the biggest port operators in the world – signed a cooperative agreement with Chinese home appliance giant Haier Group in Qingdao, East China's Shandong province, on May 13, and both sides agreed to leverage their unique strengths and embrace a digital and intelligent transformation.

According to the agreement, the two sides will deepen cooperation in various fields such as smart logistics, new energy resources, cruise tourism, healthcare, and finance, to deepen their win-win cooperation.

SPG has made tremendous gains since its integrated reform in 2019, according to Haier Chairman and CEO Zhou Yunjie, and has become a successful model for enterprises to pursue reform.

Zhou went on to say that Haier is the world's top provider of digital transformation solutions, with many high-end brands and a modern innovative ecosystem that closely integrates the industrial, innovation, value, and supply chains. In order to fully use their complementary advantages and achieve high-quality development, he believes Haier and SPG will enhance their cooperation in top-level design and conduct in-depth exchanges in domains such as smart port building, smart logistics, energy resources, and health.

Huo Gaoyuan, chairman of SPG, praised Haier's technological innovation and enterprise management capabilities, as well as its strong capabilities in information technology and automobile manufacturing. SPG will strengthen its partnership with Haier in order to boost the company's green and low-carbon development, as well as to advance scientific and technological innovation in order to pursue high-quality development.
