As the first relative standard in the domestic port industry, the Code for Dust Suppressants and Their Application in Port Bulk Material Storage Yard, was finished and published on June 27 by Rizhao Port, a Shandong Port Group (SPG) subsidiary.

The release of the standard was not only SPG's efforts to pursue new achievements in the bulk cargo operations of national smart and green ports, but also started a new chapter of developing standardization, normalization and refinement of the application of suppressants.

After studying technologies developed both domestically and abroad, SPG has gradually adopted spraying dust inhibitors since 2019, and has received good results. The bulk cargo dust inhibitor preparation project, initiated in October 2020, succeeded in the independent production of Shangangrun bulk dust suppressants after a series of trials that included formulation development, workshop construction, process streamlining and equipment commissioning. As the standard formulation officially started in January, the standard application process was expedited. The standard formulation was ultimately recognized and accepted by Shandong Ecological Society on June 18, and it was published on June 27.

Adhering to the collaboration and cooperation development concept, Rizhao Port will utilize new models to provide other subsidiaries with advanced dust suppressants services in the future, and make new contributions to build SPG into a globally advanced smart and green port group.
