Shandong Port Group (SPG) - a major port operator based in East China - held a promotional meeting for the cooperation and construction of its key projects on Oct 10, which was attended by a number of industry leaders and government officials.

Key projects serve as both the ballast and the propeller to drive regional economic recovery and stabilize the economy. In order to promote the construction and development of the key projects, SPG held a series of themed meetings, which have vigorously promoted a new round of port construction and development initiatives.

During the meeting, SPG presented attendees with 60 key projects, and all attendees are expected to promote the development of a world-class port cluster on the Shandong Peninsula, and help SPG grow into an international shipping hub in Northeast Asia, as well as advance the integrated development of the port group and inland cities.

In the past three years, SPG has made great strides in advancing the integration reform among its industries, and has gained satisfied achievements, which have in turn boosted the transformation and high-quality development of the group, according to Huo Gaoyuan, chairman of SPG.

Currently, the port group is accelerating its pace in transforming into a world-class sea port, and fostering a comprehensive and modern shipping service system, in a bid to develop from a port operator to an integrated supply chain service provider, Huo added.
