Shandong Port Investment Holding's shipping service company has since May carried out the disposal of unneeded assets, including outdated gate cranes, forklifts, tire cranes, loading machines, waste grabs, container waiting rooms, bulk cargo container platforms and pallet trucks.

A total of 162 customers from around the country participated in the bidding for these assets, which fetched 11.18 million yuan ($1.57 million). 

Among them were four imported forklifts that were put up for bidding on May 29 with a starting price of 220,000 yuan. A bulk cargo container platform was auctioned off on June 1 following 364 rounds of bidding.

The company said it will continue to launch ship trading and asset disposal businesses, dispose outdated equipment and waste assets and realize "ship plus asset" operation through key platforms such as the Shandong Port Asset Disposal Network and the Shandong Port Ship Trading and Asset Disposal Comprehensive Service to boost innovation, opening-up, integration and high-quality development.
