To further expand Shandong Port Group (SPG)'s presence in Southeast Asia and promote its port-centered integrated supply chain solutions, SPG general manager Li Fengli led relevant top managers of Qingdao Port, Logistics Group, Investment Holdings Group, Trading Group and Overseas Development Group on a visit to Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam from March 4 to 13.

While visiting Indonesia, SPG promoted its port-centered integrated supply chain service system, which has left a deep impression on various parties, many of whom have expressed strong willingness to cooperate with SPG. In 2023, the container traffic between SPG and Indonesia was 255,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), while the bulk commodity throughput was 10.32 million metric tons, which includes coal, agricultural products, timber and other goods. At present, SPG has 10 container services and two break-bulk cargo services to Indonesia.

SPG has enjoyed a long-lasting collaboration and people-to-people exchanges with enterprises in Cambodia. In 2015, Qingdao Port established a sister port relationship with Port of Sihanoukville. SPG accommodates two direct container services to Port of Sihanoukville. In 2023, the container traffic between SPG and Cambodia reached 20,000 TEUs, and prospects for further cooperation are promising.

During its visit to Vietnam, SPG Qingdao Port signed sister port agreements with Saigon Port and Hai Phong Port. Presently, there are 19 direct services linking SPG with Vietnam, with Ports of Saigon and Hai Phong as the main port of calls. The shipping routes connecting Qingdao Port and Saigon Port  are operated daily, while the routes connecting Rizhao Port and Yantai Port with Saigon Port are operated weekly. Last year, the container traffic between Qingdao Port and Vietnam was 400,000 TEUs.
