A break bulk vessel loaded with steel structure recently departed from the Dongjiakou Port area of Qingdao Port and bounded for Russia's Nakhodka Port. The departure of the ship marked the launch of Dongjiakou's first break bulk cargo service between Dongjiakou and Russia for 2024, which has injected fresh vitality into Qingdao Port's efforts to serve the Belt and Road Initiative.

The launch of the new service is poised to expand the break bulk cargo service layout of Qingdao Port, streamline international transport corridors, strengthen the trade and shipping between China and Russia, enhance the service chain of Shandong Port Group's (SPG) overseas business, as well as support the Belt and Road Initiative.

According to port officials, 100,000 cubic meters of steel structures were exported to Russia via the service, mainly used for factory building. To provide better and more efficient service, the Dongjiakou branch has provided a tailor-made plan in line with customers' personalized and diversified needs. Such a move significantly shortened the ship's port stay time and won high recognition from the carrier and cargo owners for its first-class service and efficiency.

Going ahead, Qingdao Port is set to focus on the increasing export of oversized high-end manufacturing equipment to connect import and export enterprises, continue to expand the shipping service network, and create a fast lane for the import and export of break bulk equipment.
