Shandong Port Qingdao Port Group, founded in 1892, is the fourth largest port in the world and the main gateway for the Yellow River Basin. It provides integrated logistics services and international passenger transport services, including loading and unloading, storage, agency, bonded warehousing, distribution, processing, and transportation of various import and export goods such as containers, crude oil, iron ore, coal, and grain. In 2023, the cargo throughput exceeded 700 million tons, ranking fourth in the world, and the container throughput reached 30 million TEUs, ranking fifth in the world.

SPG Qingdao Port Group has five port areas, including Dagang Port Area, Huangdao Oil Port Area, Qianwan Port Area, Dongjiakou Port Area, and Weihai Port. It boasts 124 productive berths, 36 kilometers shoreline, and 400 million tons designed annual throughput capacity.
Dagang Port Area (a dedicated cruise terminal of 227,000 GRT and world-class international cruise center with deep-water berths for 100,000 DWT grain vessels)
Huangdao Oil Port Area (a crude oil terminal of 300,000 DWT, handling crude oil, refined oil products, and liquid chemicals)
Qianwan Port Area (an international container hub capable of accommodating the world’s largest container ship of 24,000 TEUs)
Dongjiakou Port Area (an iron ore terminal of 400,000 DWT and crude oil terminal of 450,000 DWT, handling bulk cargo, liquid bulk cargo, containers, break-bulk cargo, logistics, etc.)
Weihai Port (a comprehensive port with a high density of services to Japan and South Korea, the China-Korea Golden Waterway)
SPG Qingdao Port Group is located at the junction of land and sea routes along the Belt and Road, connecting Japan and Korea in the east, Europe and Asia in the west, ASEAN countries in the south, and Mongolia and Russia in the north. It serves as a “Go Eye” for the opening of Shandong Province and the Yellow River basin and a bridgehead for cooperation with Japan, Korea, and ASEAN countries under the RCEP.

SPG Qingdao Port Group has more than 220 container routes connecting with over 700 ports of more than 180 countries and regions worldwide, ranking first among the ports in North China. For 9 consecutive years, it has ranked first among the ports in China in terms of the volume of sea-rail intermodal containers.
SPG Qingdao Port Group has 77 sea-rail intermodal routes and 41 inland ports, further strengthening Qingdao's position as a bridgehead for Shandong's opening up to the world.
SPG Qingdao Port Group adheres to innovation-driven development and digital empowerment and focuses on new quality productive forces. It has built China’s first fully independent and automated terminal, equipped with an independently developed, internationally leading, and fully autonomous intelligent management and control system, known as A-TOS. After going into operation, it produces high production immediately and the average single-machine operation efficiency of bridge cranes reaches 60.2 container units per hour, breaking the world record for the 10th time; The automation rate of equipment in the dry bulk cargo terminal has reached 93% and it has become the first smart dry bulk cargo terminal in the country to cover the entire system of smart scheduling, smart warehouse, smart equipment, and smart belt processes.
Shandong Port Qingdao Port has launched a quantitative service standard of "four commitments and eight guarantees" for global container liner services and promises to provide 24-hour pickup and dispatching operation of containers for cargo owners and shipowners. Its berth efficiency ranks first in the world. It boasts many world-class strategic partners, has established sister port relations with 30 ports around the world, and has become one of the founding members of the Global Shipping Business Network (GSBN).
