At the request of the Rizhao Port Group, the ship trading and material disposal integrated service platform of Shandong Port Group (SPG) conducted a public auction for a lot consisting of two Rizhao Port gantry cranes on July 12. 

With active promotion and efficient management, the auction drew 35 customers from provinces and cities like Shandong, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Fujian, and Anhui. Following 91 rounds of spirited bidding, the initial price of 2.4 million yuan ($330,331) escalated to 8.3 million yuan, with a premium of 5.9 million and a remarkable premium rate of 245.83 percent, establishing a new record for the largest single transaction in the platform's equipment category.

The gantry cranes, manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries, are pedestal models with a maximum lifting capacity of 50 metric tons and a height of 32 meters, primarily used for bulk cargo operations at Rizhao Port. The auction saw interest from several companies, with a port company from Jiangsu ultimately securing the equipment.

Looking ahead, the platform plans to capitalize on fresh opportunities in equipment renewal and the exchange policy for old and new consumer goods, further expanding its presence in the domestic market. By enhancing service quality and boosting market influence, it aims to accelerate the advancement of new productive forces in port and shipping finance and evolve into the leading material equipment auction platform distinguished by port-centric features.
