The vessel BOHWA BANGKOK successfully docked in the Weifang Port area of Bohai Bay Port, led by Shandong Port Group (SPG), on Aug 18. This marks the official opening of the Weifang-Southeast Asia general cargo shipping route. With this addition, SPG has further bolstered the Belt and Road Initiative in Southeast Asia.

The maiden voyage of this new route is destined for Hai Phong Port, carrying primarily a variety of types of steel and equipment for local industrial projects in Vietnam. Throughout this year, the Bohai Bay Port has actively explored foreign trade markets, striving to create an integrated "forest, wood, and paper" supply chain service platform. This platform combines raw material supply, end-to-end logistics, financial services, and market expansion.

"Building on a stable wood chip supply chain channel in Vietnam, we leverage local industrial characteristics to effectively cultivate overseas markets. We aim to break industry boundaries and strengthen the two-way channel between Weifang and Southeast Asia," said Su Shiyong, director of the general cargo center at Bohai Bay Port's marketing cneter.

Leveraging the resource endowments and hub advantages of SPG, Bohai Bay Port actively integrates services, collaborates in its contributions to the Belt and Road Initiative, and drives the development of inland and along-the-line industries.
